Cornersmith, Marrickville

The Cornersmith is a lovely little cafe in the wonderfully multicultural neighbourhood of Marrickville. You will find authentic Vietnamese markets shops and Greek bakeries along Illawarra Rd, with the Cornersmith plopped halfway along it.

The Cornersmith has a focus on sustainable and ethically sourced local produce, serving up delicious and seasonal sandwiches, salads, eggy-things, ploughman’s platters & all things pickled!

An unforgettable lunch I had here was the Beetroot, Buckwheat & Ricotta with Rosemary + Verjus dressing and Aioli on open sourdough. Absolutely delicious combination of ingredients! They sell many of their homemade products as well, from their Picklery up the road, so I took home a jar of their pickled beetroot to try and recreate this beautiful lunch at home!

Be sure to grab a coffee here too! My long black with hot milk was perfection…
